TUTORIAL: E-mail
Setup using MS Outlook Express or Outlook
This tutorial may differ from
your exact version of Outlook however all version of it make the
same information and settings available although you may have to
look around to find them.
Step 1.

In which ever version of
Outlook you have including Outlook Express find "Tools"
Step 2.

Find and click on "Accounts"
Step 3.

To set up a new account
(Mailbox) click on "Add, Mail". Or, if you already have a
mailbox setup highlight it and click on properties ... See and skip
to Step 8. below.
Step 4.

Type in your name. If
you make a mistake this can be edited later in Step 8. below.
Step 5.

Enter the e-mail address you
are adding. Generally it will be
youname@somecompany.com
or similar.
Step 6.

Our email boxes are all POP3.
Step 7.

Type the account name and the
password we sent you. Generally the account name will be "youname@somecompany.com"
without the quotes and you need it ALL. And the password will be 8 -
16 characters which include upper and lower case letters, numbers
and possibly a special character. The password is CASE SENSITIVE.
And must be entered exactly as you were given. If you like feel free
to copy and paste this in so no mistakes are made. Make sure
you have NO spaces in front or behind your password as these will be
interpretted as part of your password!
Step 8.

After your mailbox is created
or if you are modifying an existing mailbox account highlight it and
click on "Properties".
Step 9.

Clicking on properties opens a
menu with 5 Tabs across the top. Click on "Servers" and ensure that
your settings follow the example above substituting "yourdomain" for
the domain in your email address (what follows the "@" symbol. And
making sure your username is what proceeds the "@" symbol in your
e-mail box account.
Make sure you have the tick
mark in the box beside "My server requires authentication"
and click
on "Settings". If you don't have this correctly set
you will be able to receive email but not SEND any. In most cases
mail you attempt to send, when this is not correctly set, will
BOUNCE back marked as SPAM.
Step 10.

On the sub menu that opens
tick the box as shown above.
If after following these
directions you find that you can receive but not send - recheck Step
8. When that is not set correctly you can not send e-mail.
Last Thoughts:
You should always be able to
access your e-mail using webmail (Squirrel Mail). To do so type:
http://mail.yourdomain.com
(.net, .org. .ca) what ever you extension name is. The login
or username is as shown in Step 7. above: "yourname@yourdomain.com"
(without the quotes) and your password is what again what ever it
says in Step 7. above.
Please note your email
password is encrypted and CAN NOT be recovered if you loose or think
it has been compromised. We can reset it in such cases. Please
