TUTORIAL: E-mail Setup using Qualcomm's Eudora vs. 5 or newer.

This tutorial may differ from your exact version of Eudora however all versions of it post vs. 5 (version 5 or newer are compatible) make the same information and settings available although you may have to look around to find them.

If your have a version of Eudora older than vs. 5 you MUST upgrade to use POP3 client email. Or, access your DD&H e-mail box using webmail.

Step 1.

Open Eudora 5 or newer.

Step 2.

Find and click on "Tools, Options"

Step 3.

Click on "Getting Started"  in the left side column.

The "Login Name" and "Return Address" will be the email address we sent you. The "Mail Server (Incoming)" and the "SMTP Server (Outgoing)"will be mail.yourdomain.com where you substitute the part of your e-mail address that follows the "@" symbol for "yourdomain.com" with the information we sent you. Generally the account name will be "username@somecompany.com" without the quotes and you need it ALL.

Step 4.

Make sure you put the tick mark beside "Allow authentication". Then click OK. If this is not set correctly you will be able to receive mail but NOT SEND ANY.

Find and click on the link or icon to send and receive mail. You will then be prompted for your password. If yoyu don't enter this correctly or if Eudora fails to connect to the mail account correctly you will be prompted for you password each and every time until there is a successful connection.  Once that is accomplished Eudora will remember your password.

The password will be 8 - 16 characters which include upper and lower case letters, numbers and possibly a special character. The password is CASE SENSITIVE. And must be entered exactly as you were given. If you like feel free to copy and paste this in so no mistakes are made.  Make sure you have NO spaces in front or behind your password as these will be interpreted as part of your password!

Last Thoughts:

You should always be able to access your e-mail using webmail (Squirrel Mail). To do so type:
http://mail.yourdomain.com (.net, .org. .ca) what ever you extension name is.  The login or username is as shown in Step 7. above:  "yourname@yourdomain.com" (without the quotes) and your password is what again what ever it says in Step 7. above.

Please note your email password is encrypted and CAN NOT be recovered if you loose or think it has been compromised. We can reset it in such cases. Please contact us at:
